Safeguarding
We take the safeguarding of our pupils very seriously here at Weeton St Michael's C of E Primary School. We have two safeguarding specialists who are trained to either level 3 or 4 in safeguarding (the highest levels of training that are available), and all other members of staff receive annual safeguarding training.
Headteacher, Mr Luke Smith, is the Senior Designated Safeguarding Lead. It is my job, and that of the safeguarding team to ensure that the welfare of ALL our pupils is the best that we can provide. Our primary consideration is that of the child and their wellbeing, be that physically, mentally or emotionally. All incidents, comments and allegations will be fully investigated and where necessary, referred to the appropriate local authority team via the MASH (multi agency safeguarding hub) and LCSC (Lancashire Children's Social Care). You can contact Mr Smith on head@weeton-st-michaels.lancs.sch.uk
A referral can be made by anyone, including members of the public if they have concerns regarding the safety of a child. Within the school, a referral will be made by one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads. If you have any concerns regarding the wellbeing of a child, please call Lancashire Children's Social Care - you can do this anonymously if you wish. Please see details below.
We produce newsletters to support our messages, shared via our social media platforms and alongside our other news items to families
